A Virtous Woman In 2009

The beginning of this year has caused me to reflect on many things as we bidded 2008 goodbye. I began to read Proverbs 31:10-31 and as I did my heart yearned to be every bit of that kind of a woman. Today I began to look at a few sites that talk about the virtous woman and I found one. I don't have new years resolutions. But I do have/feel the need to be closer to God and be the woman he desire me to be. I'm sharing some things I found on the site and hope it is a blessing to you also.

In summary
Proverbs 31:10-31 depicts the perfect will and call of God to the woman who would be a perfect wife and a godly woman:
That she fears the LORD

That she respects and does good to her husband all her life
That she brings honour to her husband by her voluntary submission
That she looks personally after her own children
That she performs home duties
That she provides good food and clothing for her family
That she is a hard worker
That she cleverly invests household money
That she be softly spoken
That she be not decked with vulgar apparel and fancy hairstyle but adorned instead with good works.
That her virtuosity is known far and wide
That she is blessed by her family and rewarded praises from her husband
That she is a public example of a godly woman
That, indeed, she is a ruby above measure

The Perfect Woman - Conclusion
The Good Wife.
Nothing can add to the simple beauty of this admirable portrait of the Biblical woman, even though modern western readers may notice in this hymn of praise a lack of emphasis on relationships or a rather unromantic view. They are welcome to have beauty and charm in their list of desirable qualities provided they keep the other qualities (given here) on their list as well: virtuous, faithful, committed, loyal, active, good shopper, early riser, enterprising, hardworking, late retirer, dextrous, generous, compassionate, secure, respectful, submitted, industrious, honourable, wise, kind,
blessed,
God fearing, and praiseworthy

This year I hope to be able to look back and see the transformation of me being everything God wants me to be.

Moment By Moment With Him

Moment By Moment With Him

Sometimes we so easily forget how unpredictable our lives may be. We make plans for our tomorrows and our futures, not realizing they could change instantly. Then one day, you wake up, and it happens. Something occurs that's not at all like you've planned. Your life has now taken a new direction, and it may be difficult for you to understand. God never promised that we'd never have struggles. He never said that there would always be sunshine and not rain. But He said He'd never leave nor forsake us, and with His presence we will forever be sustained. When God takes us from the height of the mountain, and then places us in the valley of despair. Its here we can learn total dependence upon the One who will always be there. Often times it's only through the midst of the trials, we see God works in ways we'd never have dreamed. He accomplishes so much beyond our understanding and now things may not be at all what they'd seemed. We may not know why God allowed such a hardship. We must learn to trust in the One who knows best. For our future is seen by Him only, and in Him we can confidently rest so when the unexpected may arise in our lifetime and the way God is leading seems dim. May we face it not ONE DAY at a time, but instead, MOMENT BY MOMENT with Him.I read this little article and the first thing came to me was these scriptures. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; Lean not unto thine own understanding. Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Sometimes we don't understand why we are going through these things in our life. But our God is working in these situations. He is the midst of it all. He may have us on the potter’s wheel removing something from us that is unpleasing to him. He may be testing our faith and our trust in Him. We know that all things work together for the good to them that love God. As long as we just trust and love Him, God is faithful. We know that these things are going to past and we will come out even better than what we were before if we learn to trust him.
